We are finally in 2016 and just like every year there are rumors about planned production and concept cars, and we always hope they will make it to production, even if we can’t afford them. There’s a few on our list that we would like to drive so we choose our favorite most anticipated new cars for 2016.

Ford GT

Ford announced the GT at last years Detroit Auto Show and it should available in late 2016, so start saving.  The 2016 Ford GT should produce in excess of 600 horsepower, and features a full carbon-fiber body and  a 3.5 liter V6 Eco Boost turbo engine. Performance should be stunning with 0-60 coming up in 3 seconds or less.

Audi R8 Plus

The Plus model has a V10 making 610 hp, making it the the fastest road-going car the company has ever produced. That’s 60 hp over the last model and 15 lb-ft more torque for a total of 413 lb-ft. The base model, if you dare to call it that has 540 hp and 398 lb-ft. The R8 Plus can sprint to 62 mph in less than 3 seconds and reach 124 mph in 9.9. Top speed is a dizzy 205 mph. All that power is fed to all four wheels via a seven-speed S-tronic dual-clutch transmission.

Ford Focus RS

The new Ford Focus RS will make a staggering 345 horsepower from its 2.3-liter EcoBoost four-cylinder and 325 lb-ft between 2000 and 4500 rpm. An overboost function allows for a maximum of 347 lb-ft for up to 15 seconds when the driver’s right foot is buried into the carpet. Every Ford Focus RS will use a a six-speed manual transmission (with a shorter lever than that of the ST) and the clutch and transmission have been uprated to cope with the higher levels of torque. Expect a 0-60 time starting with a 4.

Alfa Romeo Giulia

Built in Italy, the Giulia Quadrifoglio Delivers Class-leading 505 Horsepower, 443 pound-feet of torque, and a claimed 0-60 in 3.8 Seconds as well as storming around the Nürburgring in 7:39, the fastest ever by a four-door production sedan. It has Ferrari DNA too, sporting a  bi-turbo V-6 that makes the Giulia Quadrifoglio the most powerful Alfa Romeo production car ever, one that is capable of a 191 mph top speed.  The V6 version will also feature cylinder deactivation to help fuel economy numbers.

BMW M2

The BMW M2 produces 370 hp and 343 lb-ft of torque from a 3.0-liter turbocharged inline-six engine, the M2 will go from zero to 60 in 4.3 seconds and weighs 3,295 pounds. Best of all, BMW offer a manual transmission as well as its quick shifting dual clutch system.

Fiat 124 Spider

Ciao – the Mazda Miata’s Italian cousin arrived at the 2015 Los Angeles Auto Show but with more power. The Fiat motor produces 160 hp and 184 lb-ft of torque. Styling takes a bit of getting used to. Both a six-speed manual and automatic transmissions will be available, but we would choose the manual every time.

Jaguar F-Pace

The Jaguar F-Pace will be available starting next year with a price tag of $43,385 . At its initial launch, the entry-level model will feature a 3.0-liter supercharged V6 engine with 340 hp and 332 lb-ft of torque, and later  a four-cylinder diesel will join the lineup for $41,995.
