First images of Jaguar’s F-Type SVR.

First images have surfaced (courtesy of AutoExpress) , of Jaguar’s  F-Type SVR. Rumors are that it will have a 5.0-litre supercharged V8, which according to Motor Trend will deliver in excess of 600 hp.

With help from JLR’s new SVR (Special Vehicle Operations) performance arm, the Jaguar F-Type SVR will become the British marque’s most powerful car with drive inevitably coming from a tweaked variant of the range-topping 5.0-litre supercharged V8 already available across the F-Type range. As of now, the most powerful version of the F-Type is the Project 7 with it delivering 575 hp compared to the 550 hp provided by the F-Type R.

We would imagine the car will have all this power channeled through the AWD system, simply to get that much power down,  translating into an estimated 0-60 time in the low 3 seconds.

Under the skin expect the SVR to feature a more focused suspension setup, sharper eight-speed ZF gearbox and recalibrated steering. No pricing has been anounced or an arrival date An arrival date and pricing are yet to be announced but expect a significant hike over the current  F-Type.
