If your budget doesn’t extend to a Porsche 918 or Mclaren P1, but you feel the need for some serious acceleration in you life, then the Caterham Seven 620R is for you. Based on the ferocious 600 track car this has been softened, but only slightly.

The new Caterham Seven 620 R features a wide range of performance enhancements that will see it surpass the R500’s legendary status… and then some. By harnessing Carbon Fiber trickery from the Caterham F1 Team and a dash of technical prowess, Caterham’s engineers have created a monster.

Lurking at the heart of the car is the same 2.0 litre engine as found in the R500, except it has been supercharged….gulp. Now it delivers 310 hp @ 7,700 rpm , 219 lb ft @ 7,350, in a car that weighs 1,210 lbs,

With a new sequential gearbox and up graded drive train coupled to newly developed suspension components courtesy of the Caterham F1 team the 620 R delivers more feel and handles better than anything they have offered before.

0-60 mph takes an astonishing 2.79 seconds, that’s Porsche 911 Turbo S territory. Due to brick like aerodynamics it tops out at 155 mph.

You can get one this side of the pond and prices start at $72,900

Currently available in right-hand drive only.
